Resin Bonded Bridges
Your dental care provider might advise you to opt for these if you are not willing to go for other fixed tooth replacement options like dental implants.
Maryland bridge is the usually the most common type of resin bonded bridge done for replacing missing teeth commonly in front tooth region.
Furthermore resin bonded bridges require minimal tooth preparation on adjacent abutment teeth,
so they are conservative option among other types of dental bridges.
Resin bonded bridges use the framework of either porcelain or metal which will bond on backside of abutment teeth with a dental adhesive unlike traditional bridges where there is requirement of dental crown on abutments.
Some of its disadvantages as with any other dental bridges are that they put a lot of strain on surrounding structures like on abutment teeth which holds it in place, it might not last for years to come and it does not resolve the issue of bone loss in the area of missing tooth / teeth.
